Yes, such long necks and huge beaks. It’s no fun having such hungry babies to feed constantly.. There are actually four of them.

Great photo! I have a California Towhee nest in my New Zealand tea tree but I couldn’t get a good photo. The parents were very upset about my being in the vicinity so I backed off. Nice to know they’re there, though.
Thank you Kris. The parents are quite tame. The nest is right next to my retractable washing line and they are used to me. I am also useful as I dig up worms.

Wowy! What make and model are they? Or should I know?
They look like miniature ostriches with those long necks but they are actually blackbirds.
Oh well captured Chloris. I wish that I could stretch my neck like that. It must be hard work being a parent bird.
